Pearl Millet also known as Bajra in India is the main variety of millet used more popular as food crop in India. In countries like US these are primary sources of animal feedstuffs. Several studies have been conducted on its potential as food for various types of animals like poultry, ducks, cows, hogs, and catfish. It is good source of diet as compared to the corn diet for animals. It has 45% more protein content than feed corn and is also 40% higher in lysine. Due to higher protein characteristics the millet grain are popular poultry and livestock feeds. Millet grains are good sources of feed for cows, hogs or poultry.
